Two struggling franchises in dire need of wins meet early Saturday evening when the Phoenix Suns (12-23) visit Sacramento to tangle with the Kings (12-20).
The Suns have dropped seven games in a row and only five games ahead of the West's worst team, the Los Angeles Lakers, in the Pacific Division. Their latest loss was dealt on the road by the Oklahoma City Thunder on New Year's Eve, 110-106. Only eight Suns players saw game time in the defeat, with six of them getting on the scoreboard. T.J. Warren led the Suns with 29 points and 9 rebounds, while P.J. Tucker had 22 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 10 of 14 from the paint. Tyson Chandler put up another double-double with 13 points and 10 boards. The team's struggles are somewhat surprising considering the fact that they have the seventh-best offense in the league, averaging 102.8 points per game. However, it's the Sun's fifth-worst defense that ultimately betrays them, as they allow opponents to hang an average of 105.6 points on them.
The Kings are not faring much better entering 2016. Losing three in a row, the latest at home by five points on against the worst team in the NBA, the Philadelphia 76ers, the team could soon move into Phoenix's fourth place spot in the Pacific Division if their current performance doesn't improve. Marco Belinelli came off the bench for a team-leading 28 points in Wednesday's 110-105 defeat, while DeMarcus Cousins posted 21 points and 11 rebounds. Omri Casspi had a double-double of his own with 11 points and 10 boards. Working in favor for Sacramento is Cousin's dominating efforts on their home court, where he boasts a 27.9% scoring average, good enough for second-best in the league. The Kings are in a very similar position as their opponents on Saturday, with the fourth-best offense in the league and ranking dead last in defense, where they allow an average of 107.3 points per game.

Kings : Willie Cauley-Stein (probable), Rudy Gay (incertain) et Eric Moreland (absent)
Suns : Jon Leuer, Ronnie Price (incertains) et Eric Bledsoe (absent)

The Detroit Pistons (18-15) and Indiana Pacers (18-14) will meet in a crucial Central Division match-up on Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Pistons snapped a three-game skid on New Year's Eve, dominating the Minnesota Timberwolves, 115-90 at home to improve to 11-5 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Andre Drummond continued his league-leading ways in the rebound department, taking in 18 boards, but also led Detroit in scoring with 23 points. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 22 points while Anthony Tolliver came off the bench for 15 points and a team-best five three-pointers. Behind Drummond's dominating defensive chops, the team is tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for second in the NBA in rebounds, averaging 47.5 per game as a unit. The Pistons are just a half game behind the Pacers and can move into third place in the Central Division with a victory on Saturday.
Indiana have lost two game in a row, the latest at home against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, 120-116. Paul George put up impressive numbers in defeat, leading the Pacers with 31 points 6 rebounds and 5 assists, going 5-for-9 from long range and 10-for-11 from the free throw line. George has returned to form this season, averaging 24.3 points per game for Indiana. The game also saw every starter for the team post double digit scores, with C.J. Miles contributing 19 points and five three-pointers. Starting center Ian Mahinmi, who sat out Thursday's contest with a left leg knee injury, is expected to suit up for the game. This will be the Pacers last game at home for a while, as they embark on a four-game road trip beginning on Monday.

Pacers : Ian Mahinmi (probable) et Jordan Hill (incertain)
Pistons : Jodie Meeks (absent)
Indiana reste sur deux défaites.. je m'attend a une réaction de leur parts ce soir, qui se doivent de gagner des matchs a domicile, je m'attend a un match serrer.

One of the hottest teams in the league in the Oklahoma City Thunder (23-10) travel to Charlotte on Saturday night to meet the Hornets (17-15).
The Thunder, winners of 12 of their last 14 games, pulled out a hard-fought victory at home over the Phoenix Suns on New Year's Eve. Russell Westbrook once again shone in the 110-106 win, dropping 36 points and contributing 12 assists while nailing 11 of 11 shots from the free throw line. Kevin Durant added 23 points of his own, as the Durant-Westbrook tandem now rank third and fourth in league scoring, respectively. The team will be looking to replicate or better its 12-3 record in the month of December, and are looking at a relatively easy schedule in January. OKC sit at third place in the Western Conference, 3.5 games behind the second place San Antonio Spurs.
The Hornets have dropped two games in a row, most recently on Friday night in Toronto, falling 104-94 to the Raptors. The team remains at fourth place in the Southeast Division after starting the season with a surprising list of victories. Kemba Walker once again emerged as the leading points producer for Charlotte, with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Cody Zeller came within a hair of a double-double with 15 points and 9 boards. Zeller will need to continue to step up his game in the absence of Al Jefferson, who is slated to miss up to six weeks of action after undergoing surgery this week for a torn meniscus.

Hornets : Jeremy Lin, Spencer Hawes (incertains), Al Jefferson et Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (absent)

The upstart Orlando Magic (19-14) take on the best team in the Eastern Conference in the Cleveland Cavaliers (21-9) on Saturday night.
The Magic started off their road trip and 2016 on a losing note on New Year's Day, dropping a game to the Washington Wizards, 103-91. Victor Oladipo shook off a recent scoring slump to lead the team off the bench with 20 points and 5 assists, shooting 8 of 18 from the field. Tobias Harris added another double-double to his resume with 13 points and 10 rebounds as Orlando remain a game behind the first place Atlanta Hawks in the Southeast Division. 7-8 when playing away from home, the decks will be stacked against the Magic on Saturday when they visit Quicken Loans Arena that has seen a Cavs team lose only one game this season. Yet working in their favor is an elite-level defense that ranks sixth in the NBA, allowing opponents to score just 98.4 points per match-up.
The Cavaliers are returning home after a four-game road stint that saw them finish 2-2. The team are .500 away from home after winning 93-87 against the Nuggets in Denver on Tuesday. It was business as usual for LeBron James, who posted a team-best 34 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 13-of-24 from the field. Cleveland managed to edge the Nuggets despite knocking down only four three-pointers in the game, two of them coming fro Iman Shumpert. The team more than doubles that output on an typical night as they average 9.7 made triples this season, sixth-best in the NBA. The Cavaliers best enjoy their time at home on Saturday and then again on Monday when hosting the Raptors, as they set out on another six-game road trip next week.

The Milwaukee Bucks (13-21) travel to face the Minnesota Timbwerwolves (12-21) on Saturday at Target Center.
The Bucks are coming off a 120-116 win Thursday against the Indiana Pacers that snapped a three-game losing streak and gave the team its second road victory of the season in 16 games. Khris Middleton led the way with 33 points on 62.5 percent shooting from the field, including 10 of 15 from three-point range. That effort followed a career-high 36 points by Middleton in a 131-123 loss Tuesday to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Defense has been Milwaukee's problem, especially lately as it has allowed at least 100 points in each of its last five games, giving up 112.2 points per game in that span. The Bucks will get some help Saturday, though, as the Timberwolves have struggled to score recently. Minnesota has not topped 100 points in its last six games, going 1-5. Andrew Wiggins' 20.6 points per game leads the Timberwolves, who are coming off a 115-90 loss at the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. The Timbewolves, who beat the Utah Jazz, 94-80, at home Wednesday, are seeking consecutive home wins for just the second time this season.
Timberwolves : Nikola Pekovic (absent)
Bucks : Damien Inglis (incertain) et Greivis Vasquez (absent)
Deux équipes sur le papier qui ont le même bilan, Milwaukee a encore surpris contre Indiana je me penche donc pour eux ! match qui d'annonce serrer.

The New Orleans Pelicans (10-22) travel to face the Dallas Mavericks (19-14) on Saturday.
The Pelicans enter with the Western Conference's worst record and losers of six consecutive at Dallas. New Orleans had played better recently, winning four of six, but has lost its last two, including a 95-89 setback to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. The Pelicans are led by Anthony Davis, who averages 23.1 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.
Coming off a 114-91 blowout of the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, the Mavericks were on the other side of a rout Friday, losing 106-82 at the Miami Heat. Dallas went 7 of 31 from three-point range as it lost it for the third time in four road games. The Mavericks return home Saturday, though, seeking their sixth consecutive home victory, their longest streak in more than two years. Point guard Devin Harris is not expected to play after leaving Friday's game with back spasms.

Mavericks : Deron Williams (incertain)
Pelicans : Quincy Pondexter (absent)
Les Pélicans sont mauvais a l’extérieur avec un bilan de 3-15.

The Houston Rockets (16-18) will look to pull off the unlikely task of beating the San Antonio Spurs (28-6) at home at the AT&T Center on Saturday.
The Rockets season has been far below expectations and they just continue to play poorly. They come into this game losing three-straight and playing as bad as defense as ever. They have allowed at least 110 points in all three of those losses, which is sadly not far off their season average. Houston currently ranks 27th in points allowed this season and allows one of the highest field-goal percentages in the NBA. Outside of James Harden, no one else is providing enough scoring either and that’s a bad combination for any NBA team. This may be one of their toughest tasks of the season as well, as this is a revenge game against a team who hasn't lost at home all season.
The Spurs on the other hand have been playing some of the best defense in team history and stifling teams night after night. They rank first in defensive efficiency and points allowed and haven’t allowed over 100 points in six-straight games. This is also a revenge game for the Spurs, as their only loss in their last 11 games has come against this Houston team on Christmas. If that's not enough incentive to win this game, San Antonio is looking to extend their undefeated home winning streak to an incredible 20 games for the season. The Spurs come into this matchup as an 11-point favorite and rightfully so.

Spurs : Tim Duncan (probable)
Rockets : Sam Dekker (absent)
Les Spurs à la maison c'est du 19-0 ! si les Rockets veulent avoir une chance, il faudra changer leur défense misérable et encore... il sont trop instable...

The Memphis Grizzlies (18-16) will take on the host Utah Jazz (14-17) at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Saturday.
Memphis comes into this game wining four of their last six games and they finally seem to be getting back to the grit-n-grind they are known for. In fact, the Grizzlies have not allowed more than 100 points in 10-straight games. They recently put Zach Randolph back into the starting-five and it was a much needed change for a struggling team. The offense is still bad though, as Memphis ranks 29th in points scored this season. This is a talented team, but they simply don't have enough offense unless all five starters are playing at top levels on the offensive end. In an up-tempo new aged NBA, this team may be falling behind the times a bit and some changes may be on the horizon if they don't continue their winning ways. The good news here is that they play an equally bad offense who is as injured as any other team right now.
The Jazz have been bit by the injury bug lately and it's really hurting their offense. They are now without Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert and Alec Burks, with Favors the only one due back soon. Utah had a nightmare game against the Timberwolves earlier this week when they scored just 80 points, but bounced back nicely after that to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers scoring 109 points. They still rank just 26th in scoring and they'll likely struggle again on Saturday against a defensively potent Grizzlies team. The first team to 100 will win this game, if either team is even lucky enough to reach the century mark.

The visiting Denver Nuggets (12-21) face the tough task of playing the Golden State Warriors (30-2) at Oracle Arena on Saturday.
Not many teams have been dealing with as many injuries as the Nuggets, but healthy players are on the horizon. Jusuf Nurkic, Emmanuel Mudiay and Danilo Gallinari have all missed significant time recently, but they are due back sooner rather than later. In fact, there are rumors that all three could be back for this game against the Warriors. They desperately need them to return as well, as the Nuggets have lost seven of their last eight games. In the two prior games against Golden State, Denver lost by 13 and 14 points in closer games than most expected. Both sides of the ball have been bad this season, as Denver ranks in the bottom-10 in both offense and defense.
Golden State has been without Steph Curry for their last two games, and have had mixed results. They were blown out against the Dallas Mavericks, but won a close game against the Houston Rockets the night after. It doesn’t appear that Curry's injury is too serious and this small break may be better for Golden State's long-term goals. The Warriors come into this game 15-0 at home this season and only lost one regular season game at home in the whole of 2015. That's an amazing run and it seems likely to continue with Golden State being favored by 15 points coming into this matchup. Steve Kerr may also make his return here after a long battle with back surgery to man the sideline for the NBA champs.

Warriors : Festus Ezeli, Stephen Curry, Leandro Barbosa, Harrison Barnes (incertains) et Kevon Looney (absent)
Nuggets : Jusuf Nurkic, Danilo Gallinari (incertains), Emmanuel Mudiay et Wilson Chandler (absents)
Bon Golden devrait faire le boulot.. attention cependant a la liste d'absence.

The Philadelphia 76ers (3-32) play the host Los Angeles Clippers (21-13) at Staples Center on Saturday.
Philadelphia has been playing some revived basketball recently and it directly correlates with the trade of Ish Smith. They are 2-2 since they traded for him, which is quite the feat, considering it tripled their win total after starting 1-30. They did take a small step back on Friday though, as they really struggled against a bad Los Angeles Lakers team. They scored just 84 points in that game and shot only 37 percent from the field. This will be a tough task, as it will be the second portion of a back-to-back against a much better LA team. They'll need to improve on their dead-last ranking in offense and turnovers if they want to win double-digit games this season.
The Clippers are playing some of their best ball of the season, as they have won five-straight coming into this matchup. The strangest part about their run is that it correlates with the loss of All-Star Blake Griffin. The team has opted to go to small-ball and it's clear that the new style is paying major dividends. What's even more bizarre is that the five-game winning streak has come on the road against good competition. This looks like another great opportunity at a win, as they come into this game as a double-digit favorite against the worst team in the NBA.

Clippers : Blake Griffin (absent)
76ers : Hollis Thompson (incertain) et Joel Embiid (absent)
Les Clippers devrait faire qu'un bouchée des petits de Philadelphie ! il seront en Back-To-back ayant perdu hier contre les Lakers.
