00h : Milwaukee - Indiana

The Milwaukee Bucks (12-21) spend New Year's Eve at Bankers Life Fieldhouse taking on the Indiana Pacers (18-13).

Losers of three straight, the Bucks fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road on Tuesday night, 131-121. Khris Middleton led the way with a career-best effort for Milwaukee in the high-scoring affair, putting up 36 points and 7 assists while making 6 of 9 from long range. Middleton accounted for more than half of the team's collective 10 triples in the loss, and has emerged as the leading scorer for the Bucks in their 2015-16 campaign, averaging 15.8 points per contest. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a double-double in a game effort, scoring 27 points and hauling in 10 rebounds. The Bucks are now an abysmal 3-15 on the road this season, while holding down a respectable 9-6 record at home. A pre-season favorite to turn some heads this year as a young, darkhorse force in the East, Milwaukee enters the new year sitting at dead last in the Central Division.

Despite some late-game heroics from Monta Ellis, the Pacers lost a heartbreaker in overtime in Chicago on Wednesday night, falling 102-100 to the Bulls. George Hill had 20 points, Paul George 19 points and Ellis 13 points as Indiana have dropped three of their last five contests. Lavoy Allen put up a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards as the team remains in second place in the Central Division. The Pacers had an off night from the paint, making 38.1% of their shots. The odds are in Indiana's favor on Thursday, however, as the team boasts an impressive 11-4 record at home, where they will be again on Saturday to host division rivals Detroit before heading out on a four-game road trip.

Two teams closing out 2015 in a slump meet in Detroit on New Year's Eve, as the Minnesota Timberwolves (12-20) visit the Pistons (17-15).

After dropping four straight in the last weeks, the Wolves returned to winning form on Wednesday night, defeating the Utah Jazz 94-80 at home. Karl-Anthony Towns was the leading point scorer for Minnesota with a double-double to boot, putting up 25 points and 10 rebounds. The 7-foot rookie is now the second-leading scorer for the team on the season, averaging 16.2 points and 9.4 rebounds a game. Ricky Rubio added 10 points and 17 assists of his own, as the Timberwolves remain in last place in the Northwest Division. The unit made 5 of 10 long range attempts on Wednesday, indicative of their three-point shooting efforts so far this season, where they rank dead-last in the NBA in attempts, with averaging only 15.9 per match-up.

Detroit has lost three consecutive games, the latest occurring at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, as they fell 108-96 to the New York Knicks. Ersan Ilyasova was the team's leading scorer in the defeat, posting 19 points. Reggie Jackson came one assist shy of a double-double, dropping 17 points and 9 assists, while league rebound king Andre Drummond had a relatively subdued night with 9 boards and 13 points. Drummond is averaging 16 rebounds per match-up this season. Detroit is in fourth place in the competitive Central Division, sitting five games behind first place Cleveland.

01h : Golden State Warriors - Houston Rockets

The Golden State Warriors (29-2) will take on the Houston Rockets (16-17) on Thursday night at the Toyota Center in Houston.

The Warriors proved Wednesday that they are in fact, human. They suffered their second loss of the season at the hands of the Mavericks by a score of 114-91. Draymond Green led all starters with 11 points (4-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), along with nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 31 minutes. The Warriors are dealing with a host of injuries, Stephen Curry, Harrison Barnes, Leandro Barbosa, and Festus Ezeli all sat of Wednesday's game. Curry could return for Thursday's game as he is dealing with lower leg ailment, the severity of which is relatively unknown. He received an MRI on Wednesday but the results have yet to be revealed. Both Barnes and Barbosa have already been ruled out of Thursday's game. The Warriors will look to end their most memorable year in franchise history on a high-note, as they are on pace for the best record in NBA history

The Rockets have now dropped two games in a row after a 121-115 loss to the Hawks on Tuesday night. In the loss, Dwight Howard exploded for 30 points (10-12 FG, 10-18 FT), 16 rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in 38 minutes. James Harden added 26 points (6-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 11-12 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists, and a steal in 39 minutes. Harden also committed a game-high seven turnovers. An illness kept Terrence Jones out of Tuesday's loss but he has been cleared to play and will return to the court Thursday. The Rockets will head into Thursday night looking for their first win over the Warriors this season.

Youpi !

01h : Los Angeles Clippers - New Orleans Pelicans

The Los Angeles Clippers (20-13) will take on New Orleans Pelicans (10-21) at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Thursday.

The Clippers are on a four-game win steal after defeating the Hornets 122-117 on Wednesday night. J.J. Redick led the way with 26 points (8-14 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), along with a rebound in 27 minutes. Chris Paul added 19 points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 11-12 FT), 11 assists, five rebounds, a steal and a block in 30 minutes. DeAndre Jordan secured his 17 double-double of the season with 13 points (4-4 FG, 5-10 FT), 13 rebounds, one block, and an assist in 33 minutes. The Clippers beat the Pelicans in their first matchup of the season on November 27 by a score 111-90.

The Pelicans are coming off a 104-89 loss to the Magic on Monday night. Anthony Davis led scored 20 points (9-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-5 FT) with eight rebounds in 28 minutes in the loss. Norris Cole had his best game of the season, scoring a season-high 17 points, (8-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt), with eight rebounds and three assists over 30 minutes. The Pelicans are 0-15 this season when being held under 100 points. The Pelicans have not beaten the Clippers since January 30.

01h : The Phoenix Suns - Oklahoma City

The Phoenix Suns (12-22) will play the Oklahoma City Thunder (23-10) at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Phoenix lost their season-high sixth-straight game on Wednesday and it was a downright embarrassment. They were trailing by 30 points at the half to the San Antonio Spurs and showed very little fight throughout the game losing by 33. The loss of Eric Bledsoe is clearly a huge burden on the team and it would be hard to imagine them getting out of the deep hole they have dug themselves. With all the issues that have been going on in Phoenix, it would not be surprising to see some changes on the horizon. This looks like another strong possibility of a blowout, as the Thunder are playing some of their best basketball of the season right now.

The Thunder are 15-4 at home this season and have been playing great as of late. The offense is nearly unstoppable and the defense has had a major turnaround recently. In fact, Oklahoma City comes into this game winning 11 of their last 13 while averaging about 110 points per game in that span. This looks like another fantastic opportunity to boost those gaudy numbers, as this beleaguered Suns team is one of the worst defenses in the NBA. The Thunder come into this game as a 14-point favorite, which very well may rise by tip-off with the two teams recent form.

Besoin d'en dire plus ?  Les Suns vont mal ... très mal...

01h : Portland Trail Blazers - Utah Jazz

The Portland Trail Blazers (14-20) will take on the Utah Jazz (13-17) at the Vivnt Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, UT on Thursday.

The Blazers come into this game with a modest three-game winning streak and they've done that damage without Damian Lillard. That's a huge surprise, considering he is one of the league leaders in scoring and usage rate. The hero recently has been C.J. McCollum, who is averaging 25 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game over his last four games. The future is bright in Portland right now with this backcourt and it will be a scary sight when McCollum and Lillard are playing together at these top levels. Portland comes into this game in the second half of a back-to-back set, as they beat the Denver Nuggets 110-103 on Wednesday night.

The Jazz come into this game losing three of their last four and the offense is really struggling. Much of that has to be attributed to the recent injury bug that has hit this team. They are now without Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert and Alec Burks and the struggle was real in their most recent game. They shot just 35 percent in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and scored just 80 points in that loss. They ranked 25th in the NBA in scoring prior to that loss and they may fall even farther down the rankings with a game like that. This is a good opportunity for them to get back on track though, as they are small favorites heading into this matchup.
